General Conference Weekend

We belong to the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints, or more commonly known as Mormons.  Two times a year we get to listen to the leaders of our church speak to the entire world.  They talk about things like the atonement of Jesus Christ, prayer, faith, family and life.  This weekend was conference and it was amazing.  There is a living prophet today who speaks with God and tells us what we need to do to live happy and productive lives.  We got to listen to the prophet and apostles these past few days and it is always wonderful to feel the spirit and make new goals to improve.  My favorite talk was about family and the importance of it.  Dallin H. Oaks, an apostle of the Lord, spoke about children and the responsibilities parents have to nurture and care for their children.  To listen to some of the talks go here, and to learn more about our church go here.  I love knowing that our Heavenly Father loves all his children equally.  Back in Biblical times he gave prophets and apostles to teach the people about the Savior Jesus Christ and the things they needed to do to follow him and return to live with him and their families.  He  loves us just as much and He has given us prophets and apostles in our days to help us with the same things.  Times have changed and we face different hardships in our lives and we need the guidance of our Heavenly Father to help us get through the difficulties and problems that we face.  I know Thomas S. Monson is the living prophet today and I know he loves and follows Jesus Christ.  I know Jesus Christ is our Savior and he died for us so we could repent of our sins and live with him again.  I am so grateful to be a member of the true church and to know the things I know.
